Opp’s junior varsity Lady Bobcats swept Elba in a season-opening doubleheader on Thursday.

Kaitlin Schively and Tiffany Dean allowed two hits combined as OHS went on to win the first game 12-0.

The Lady Bobcats scored seven runs in the first inning and four runs in the second. Dean had five strike outs.

Tori Reisnour, Katy Spurlin and Page Johnson led OHS with two runs each in the 7-4 second-game win. Johnson pitched five innings and allowed two hits.

Peyton Foster hit an inside-the-park home run to lead the Lady Bobcats in the first inning.

“We had outstanding pitching and played a great first game,” OHS coach Jimmy Reeves said. “Elba really got after us in the second game, but Page did a good job pitching out of trouble and leading our offense.”

Weather permitting, the JV squad will play in a tournament today in New Brockton.
