After not one, but two, drug containers fell out of his pants during a search, an Andalusia man supposedly high on methamphetamine was among the five jailed this weekend by Drug Task Force agents.

DTF Agent Roger Cender said Anda-lusia officer Ryan M-addox made a traffic stop on Snowden Drive at approximately 11 p.m. Saturday.

“Within the car, the passenger – a Joseph T. Spenard – was asked to exit the vehicle,” Cender said. “Based on (Spenard’s) behavior, (Officer Maddox) could tell Spenard was high on meth at the time.

“During the pat down, an orange cylinder that he’d had in his crotch area containing methamphetamine fell out of his pants leg,” Cender said. “I was contacted at that point, and when I came out to speak with the subject, I asked him to walk toward me, and another container, this one containing morphine, fell out from his crotch area again.”

Cender said search that followed revealed a straw used to snort meth and a small amount of marijuana.

While the vehicle’s driver and front passenger were released, Spenard was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana II. He was held on a $20,500 bond.

Then, less than a hour later, Cender and fellow DTF agents traveled to Opp’s Patterson Drive, where after assisting the Covington County Sheriff’s Office and the Opp Police Department, sent four more to jail after attempting to serve a felony violation of probation warrant on Shane Harville, 33.

“When they got to the home, they were met by the homeowner and informed him they were there to get Mr. Harville,” Cender said. “Harville and a woman later identified as CiJi Blue came to the kitchen but fled to the back when they saw the officers.”

Cender said officers made entry to the home and located Billy Michael Blair, 35, and the “obvious odor of burnt marijuana” in one of the bedrooms.

“And in plain view were several meth smoking devices and marijuana cigarettes on the night stand,” he said. “A continued search of the residence revealed Blue was hiding in the bathroom with the lights off and Harville was in a bedroom closet.”

Cender said meth and other drug paraphernalia items were found in the pockets of both Blue and Harville.

He said a search of Blair’s person revealed a small glass container with meth residue inside and two hypodermic needles.

Also found in the residence was Travis Carnley, 29, who allegedly possessed a baggie containing meth residue, Cender said.

Each, with the exception of Harville, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana II and held on a $20,500 bond.

Harville was held without bond.
