Covington County is under a severe thunderstorm warning until 3:45 p.m.

At 3:11 p.m., National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing quarter-size hail and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph.

The storm was located 13 miles northeast of Andalusia or near Dozier and is moving northeast at 30 mph.

In addition to large hail and damaging winds, continuous cloud-to-ground lightning is occurring with this storm, the National Weather Service reports.
