Horse lovers, mark your calendars for next week’s “Fun N the Sun Quarter horse Show.”

Fundraising Chairman Darcy Ward said the event is an official quarter horse sanctioned event.

“It’s going to be so much fun,” Ward said. “The event is sponsored by the Alabama Quarter Horse Youth Association.

“Come join the fun and watch the versatile American quarter horse compete in various disciplines all weekend,” she said.

Ward said the event is free to the public, but those who wish to be part of the exhibition, the cost will be $150, which includes a stall for the entire weekend of showing.

“We’ll have three AQHA judges in a split combined show format,” she said. “The show includes circuit and all around awards, which are sponsored by Touch of Country Western Outlet.”

Ward said there will also be a team tournament “with many great prizes for the winning teams.”

“One highlight of the show will be the Harris work saddle raffle to be held Sun., Jun 10,” she said. “Tickets can be purchased in advance or anytime during the show. “

The event will be held June 8-10 at the Covington Center Arena and will begin at 6 p.m. Friday afternoon and will go all day on Saturday and Sunday.
