Rain likely to continue as forecasters eye TS Dorian
Residents may wake up to sunny skies today and Friday, but forecasters say it could be the lull before the storm.
Locally, there’s a 40 percent chance of thunderstorms through Tuesday, and the afternoon thunderstorms are expected to persist throughout the week.
Forecasters are now watching Tropical Storm Dorian, which formed in the eastern Atlantic Tuesday night. Currently, Dorian is moving across the Atlantic at 21 mph and has maximum sustained winds of over 50 mph. The storm may approach the Leeward Islands, including the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico, late Sunday night or Monday depending on its progress, according to The Weather Channel.
