Registration is still open for the slightly-longer than 5K trail run to benefit Kennedy Cleghorn planned at Pleasant Home School this weekend.

Cleghorn is the PHS student who is battling ovarian and thyroid cancer. All proceeds go toward her expenses.

Wingin’ It Thru the Woods will begin at the football field, go down Falco Road about a mile, through the Conecuh National Forest, come out in the vicinity of Pleasant Home Baptist Church, then return to the school on Eagle Road, ending at the stadium. The total route is approximately 3.7 miles.

Registration continues until the race begins at 9 a.m., and is $15 per person for the race. The first-place male and first-place female runners will each receive $100.

Walkers are welcome, and those who feel 3.7 miles is too far may participate on a three-person relay team.

There also will be a fun run for kids, and the entry fee is $5.

There also will be a silent auction of donated items, and hamburger plates will be available for sale at the football stadium after the race.

Applications are also available at Carolina Grocery, Harold’s, and WAAO.
