Andalusia fell 15-2 to Enterprise in its softball opener Tuesday night.

The Lady Wildcats punched out to a 5-0 lead in the first inning, tacked on two runs in the third and led 11-0 going into the bottom of the fifth inning, where AHS scored its only two runs.

“We didn’t hit the ball as well as I thought we would,” Lady Bulldogs coach Brad Garner said. “I knew we were going to be a little — kind of strapped a little bit in the fielding part of it. We had to move some people around because of injuries.”

Garner said he thought starting pitcher Breanna Dixon threw well. Dixon started in place of Abbie Young, who is out with a foot injury.

“That’s tough knowing you have to pitch the whole game,” Garner said. “She did a good job of hitting her spots and controlling the ball.”

In JV action, AHS lost 14-0.

Andalusia’s JV team will play in Opp’s tournament on Saturday. The next varsity game for the Lady Bulldogs is on Tuesday at OHS.
