Opp’s junior varsity Lady Bobcats finished in third place in a Dothan tournament on Saturday.

OHS won its first three games over Northview, Dothan and Ashford, but fell short in the championship to Daphne.

Opp’s Tiffany Dean and Gracie Kidd did most of the pitching for the Lady Bobcats during the long-day of softball.

Dean picked up the victory in a 10-4 decision over Northview for the first game. She pitched three innings, scattering two hits and had one strikeout.

Maggie Short, Kaleigh Taylor and Hope Ladson had two hits each to lead OHS. Emily Wismer, Ladson and Loryn Praytor hit in two runners each.

Taylor went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBIs to help lead the Lady Bobcats to their 15-6 win over Dothan in game two.

Dean went 2-for-2 at the plate and also earned the win on the mound as she pitched one inning and allowed two hits.

It was a close game with Ashford, but Opp prevailed in a 4-2 win over the Lady Yellow Jackets.

Dean pitched five innings and gave up two earned runs on 10 hits and struck out two.

Dean went 2-for-2; Ladson, Morgan Johnson and Morgan Pierce went 1-for-2 each to lead Opp.

In the championship game, Daphne — a Class 6A school — won 5-0.

Johnson led Opp and went 2-for-2; Short and Ariyon Hightower went 1-for-2 each.
