KAREN HOWARD MCLENDON

Karen Howard McLendon, 66, of River Falls, passed away Tues., June 3, 2014, at her residence. Funeral services will be held today, Fri., June 6, at 10 a.m. from Foreman Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Durwood Cleland, Bro. Brent Cook and Bro. Harold Morris officiating. Interment will follow at Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.

McLendon is survived by a son and his girlfriend, Ken Reed and Edwina Edwards; step-daughter, Rita (Bill) Ross; grandchildren, Shelby Reed, Amanda Riles, Chucky Ross, Michael Ross, Trevor Bulger and Angela Lewis; brother, Junior Howard; sisters, Syble (William) Knowles and Patricia (Leon) Ballard; and sister-in-law, Susan Howard.

The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in McLendon’s honor to a charity of your choice.

Pallbearers will be Lamar Thomasson, Marvin Carnley, Tim Barbaree, Brent Cook, Jeff Walker and Chris Smith.

ROY M. EVERAGE

Roy M. Everage, of Brantley, formerly of Andalusia, left to be with the Lord Tues., June 3, 2014.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Yancey Marion Everage and Mollie Mae Brunson Everage,  and his sister, Rea Everage (Lyman) Weaver.

Funeral services will be Sat., June 7, at 11 a.m. from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Gene Gillis and the Rev. Keith Price officiating. Interment will follow in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Foreman Funeral Home.

Everage is survived by his wife, Margaret Jean Blow Everage of Luverne; daughters, Pam (Robert) Grant of Birmingham, Becky (Bill) McPherson and Gail (Larry) Eardley of Mobile; sisters, Dorothy Everage Gillis, Emma Jean Everage Self and Patsy Everage Hargrove; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and was especially loved by his nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

He loved his family, friends, spending time outdoors and visiting, and helping others. He was a true man of faith, who has now gone to be with the Lord.

A special appreciation is extended to the members of the First Assembly of God Church in Luverne, who have given great support and love to him during his life. Everage’s family would also like to thank a dear friend, Opal Peek, for the support and care she’s shown him through the years.

WILLIAM F. BRODER

William F. Broder, of the Rose Hill community, died Wed. June 4, 2014, in an Opp hospital. Funeral services will be today, Fri., June 5, at 2 p.m. at Foreman Brown-Service Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Mt. Gilead cemetery.

Broder was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth Ettel and William Joseph Broder. He was a Vietnam veteran and retired after 23 years of service in the army as a Sgt. Major.

Broder is survived by his wife, Betty Sue Broder of Rose Hill; step-son, Mark (Jennifer) Dewrell of Straughn community; step-grandchildren, Josh and Johnathon Dewrell; son, Patrick Broder; daughter, Kim (Mike) Krohne; grandchildren, Jacob Broder, Jordain Broder, Juliana Broder, Champ Broder, Trenton Galbraith and Megan Julia Krohne.
