The Andalusia Board of Education on Monday approved a new supplement schedule that means pay increases for some, and in separate action, approved the personnel who will receive those supplements.

Changes in the supplement schedule:

• Increased the supplement for the head football coach at AHS to $7,000. If the team wins the semifinals, he will receive $1,200; and if they win the finals, an additional $1,200.

• Increased the supplement for assistant football coach, level 1, to $6,500, and level 2 to $5,000. In addition, the assistant coaches will receive $1,000 if the team wins the semifinals and an additional $1,000 for a state championship.

The supplement for the golf coach was increased to $1,050, and the yearbook sponsor to $750.

Superintendent Ted Watson said the new schedule makes the city system more competitive, and makes the coaching staff members the highest paid in the county.

The board also approved personnel in supplement positions.
