For the students of Pleasant Home School classes of 1945, 1955, 1965, 1975, 1985, 1995 and 2005, it’s time to meet with old friends.

This year’s homecoming activities for Pleasant Home School are scheduled for Fri., Jan. 23, and will include an assortment of activities.

“We generally have around 200 alumni attend our homecoming,” homecoming organizer Angela Owens said. “We’re expecting the same kind of turn out this year.”

An assembly with video and alumni recognition will kick off the festivities at 10:30 a.m. in the auditorium.

“We will recognize all alumni and present a video highlighting the featured classes,” Owens said. “Anyone who has photos they would like featured in the video should contact me at the school. For each of the years, we do a picture of each graduate and all the highlights of the year.”

After the assembly, there will be a hospitality room set up where alumni can visit and reminisce on their days at the school.

After student lunches, there will be a pep rally followed by early dismissal for students.

Evening activities begin at 4:30 p.m. with the B-team, followed by girls varsity and boys varsity basketball games against Kinston.

Alumni of all ages will be honored at the game and will have an opportunity to socialize in the alumni room.

Also, the Homecoming Queen and her court will be crowned during halftime of the boys’ game.

The court includes, seventh grade attendant, Hope Gunter; eighth grade attendant, Bella Worley; freshmen attendant, Madison Griffin; sophomore attendant, Camille Holley; junior attendant, Annette Jordan; and senior maids Shelby Nixon and Sarah Beth Kelley.

The theme for the PHS 2015 Homecoming is Hollywood on the Hardwood, and students will participate in the dress-up days next week.

Tuesday, students will dress up as if they are on the Red Carpet; Wednesday is Tacky Tourist Day; Thursday will be “Make Them See Stars,” where students will dress up as their favorite TV or movie character; and Friday will be Spirit Day, with students encouraged to wear red and white or their homecoming T-shirt.
