Opp finished second in the 4 x 100 meter relay at the Class 3A state track and field championships in Cullman on Saturday.
Reggie Thompson, Raheem Bonam, Hennis Washington and Orlando Lacey were all a part of the silver-metal winning group.
Kendra Green finished 21st in the state shot put; Jasmine Lindsey, Zazileyia Miller, Alexis Williamson and Amber House picked up a 16th place finish in the 4 x 400 meter relay; Williamson finished 14th in the 400-meter dash; Lacey finished eighth in the 100-meter dash; and Kordell Wade finished 16th in the 400-meter dash.
Each of the state track and field athletes qualified for state at sections in Montgomery on April 25.
“Our athletes did a good job and represented the City of Opp well,” OHS track and field coach Adrian Horstead said.
