Opp Police Department Captain Mark Kyser retired last Friday after 27 years of service with the department.

Kyser served as a patrol officer, was promoted to sergeant and was a shift supervisor within the patrol division and was then transferred to investigations and promoted to lieutenant and then to captain where he was responsible for the management of all criminal investigations.
