The Tri Cities Chamber of Commerce in Florala will hold its annual chili cook-off and auction Friday night.
The event is a fundraiser for both the Chamber and the Historical Society, Chamber president Glenn Powell said.
“ Every year we get together to do this, and split the proceeds 50/50,” Powell said.
The cook-off is free to enter and begins at 5:30 p.m. at Tyner Station or the Old Depot. Anyone interested in competing should bring a pot of chili to the event before 5:30.
Cash prizes will be awarded for first, second and third places.
Chili, crackers, tea and homemade cake will be served beginning at 6 p.m. Tickets are $5.
An auction will be held at 7 p.m. in conjunction with the cook-off, and will include items donated by area merchants and artists. The groups are also still accepting items to auction.
