District Attorney Walt Merrell said Friday that Drug Task Force Agents apprehended a man indicted by the grand jury on burglary and domestic violence charges.

Merrell said that agents arrested Willis Trence Marshall, 32, on Thursday night.

“In January, Marshall hid in the backseat of his former girlfriend’s car, which was parked in front of her home,” he said. “She saw him before she entered the car and went back inside her home. Marshall then broke a window and entered the house. He chased the victim through the house and back into the yard, waving a handgun and yelling at her to stop running.”

He was indicted by the February grand jury for burglary I and domestic violence III.

Merrell said that Marshall continued to make threatening phone calls to the victim, which she reported to the DA’s office.

“We then asked the Drug Task Force to assist in locating and arresting Marshall,” he said. “Because of their diligence in locating him, the streets of Covington County are safer.”

Marshall remains in the Covington County Jail.
