Pools open June 6

The City of Andalusia yesterday announced its schedules for its pools, which open for public swimming on June 6. The pools are available for private parties beginning May 18.
Public swimming
Cooper Pool will be open for public swimming from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m., Mondays through Saturdays, June 6 through Aug. 5.
The Coleman Center pool will be open for public swimming from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m., Mondays through Fridays, June 6 through Aug. 5.
Swimming is $1 for students and $2 for adults. Both pools are closed on Sundays.
Swimming lessons
Swimming lessons are two weeks per session, Monday through Friday. Sign-ups are the Thursday and Friday prior to each session from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Johnson Park. Each two-week session is $30.
• Session 1 is June 6-17. (Sign-up June 2 and 3).
• Session 2 is June 20-July 1. (Sign-up June 16 and 17)
• Session 3 is July 11-July 22. (Sign-up June 30 and July 1.
Pool parties
Private pool parties may be booked May 18 through July 31. Those booking parties must pay two weeks in advance or forfeit their spot. Parties can be booked on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings.
Charges are based upon the number of swimmers participating and the number of hours reserved.
Prices follow:
• 25 to 55 swimmers (two lifeguards), $75 for 90 minutes, or $140 for three hours.
• 56 to 100 swimmers (three lifeguards), $100 for 90 minutes or $175 for three hours.
• 101 to 150 swimmers (four lifeguards) $125 for 90 minutes or $225 for three hours.
• 151 to 200 swimmers (five lifeguards) $150 for 90 minutes or $275 for htree hours.
Water workouts
Water workouts begin June 8, and will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays through July 27, from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. The cost is $35 for the eight-week session.
