This building, once Florala City School and most recently known as Florala Middle School, was built in 1912.

On open house is planned for 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. and from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. this Sat., June 25, at Florala City School.

Lemonade and cookies will be served.

The city recently agreed to sell the building to Trebor Selrahc, owned by Robert Bishop and Charles Smith, with the hope of founding a non-profit board to manage the building as a community facility. Councilwoman Ann Eason, who led the campaign to convince the council to sell it to them, plans a number of fundraising talks at class reunions scheduled this week in conjunction with the community’s 24th of June Masonic Celebration.
