Eagles come from behind to earn win

The Pleasant Home Eagles fell behind early, but soared back to pick up a 62-32 victory on the road against McIntosh on Friday night.

“They started out strong in the first quarter and they (McIntosh) were up 24-0 before we even touched the ball,” Pleasant Home head coach Chris Mason said. “We opened up and scored 24-straight in the second quarter.”

McIntosh picked up another touchdown in the second quarter to and added the two-point conversion to go up 32-24.

As time was winding down in the first half, Robert Scott connected with Garrett Barton on a screen pass and Barton took it 18 yards for the touchdown to make it 32-30 at halftime.

The Eagle defense stepped up and shut McIntosh out in the second half.

Rico Bovino led Eagles with 202 yards rushing and two touchdowns.

D.J. Worley rushed for 67 yards and two touchdowns on eight carries.

Nic Woods rusheded for 38 yards and touchdown on three carries.

Scott rushed for 69 yards and had a passing touchdown.

The Eagles rushed for a total of 389 yards.

“I was proud of the way we played tonight,” Mason said. “Get down 24-0 and for most teams might just throw in the towel, but these guys never quit fighting and the never let it get them down. Now we have to get ready for Florala, and it will be their homecoming. We want to go in there and hopefully be a homecoming spoiler.”
