BILLY PETTY

Mr. Billy Petty, 72, of the Gantt community, passed away Tues., Sept. 27, 2016 at Santa Rosa Medical Center in Milton, Fla.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Fri., Sept. 30, 2016 from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel, interment will follow in Goodhope Cemetery.

The Rev. Doyle Prescott, the Rev. Ronnie Scott, and the Rev. Sonny Steele will be officiating the services.

Visitation will be held from 1:30 to 4 p.m., prior to services at the funeral home.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby Petty of Gantt; daughter, Twyla Petty Davis of Andalusia; son, Billy L. Petty of Andalusia; grandson, Michael Chad Petty; great grandchild, Ripley Petty; and sisters and brother-in-law, Hazel Morrow of Andalusia and Diane and Eldred Burks of Dozier.

Cecil Clayton Smithart

Mr. Cecil Clayton Smithart, age 70, of Andalusia, passed away Mon., Sept. 26, 2016, at Andalusia Regional Hospital.

0928-obit-smithart0001Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thurs., Sept. 29, 2016, at Foreman Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday night from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

He is survived by his wife, Okhui Smithart; daughter and son-in-law, Casey and Michael White of Andalusia; grandchildren, Christopher White, Mikah White, and Kaylee White; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Jean Smithart of Andalusia and Paul and Faye Smithart of Massachusetts; sister, Rachel Eddins; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Smithart is preceded in death by his parents, Cleve and Gladys Smithart; son, Chris Smithart; brothers, Earl, Max, Leonard, Carlos, and Billy Smithart; sister, Betty Smithart; and nephew, Jim Smithart.

Pallbearers will include Darrell Smithart, Michael Smithart, Ray Jordan, Kevin Jordan, Lomax Smithart, and Billy Wayne Smithart.

Honorary pallbearers will be Gilbert Weaver, Cecil Carnley, Julius Allen, Ralph Rutledge, Jimmy Threatt, Jimmy Allen, Claude Scott, Bill Palmer, and J.W. Petty.

Robert Ray“Bobby” Ivey

Mr. Robert Ray “Bobby” Ivey, age 78 of Red Level, passed away Fri., Sept. 23, 2016, in the Andalusia Manor after an extended illness. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Fri., Sept. 30, 2016, at Beda Baptist Church. The eulogy will be given by his son, Wade Ivey.

Mr. Ivey was the son of the late Jesse Cleveland Ivey and the late Anna Jones Ivey. He served in the U.S. Army for two years. He was employed for 36 years with Union Camp in Chapman as a plywood plant operator.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Pinkerton Ivey of Red Level; two sons, Wade (Denise) Ivey of Wing and Ken (Courtney) Ivey of Pensacola; brothers, Farrell (Linda) Ivey of Prattville, Phillip (Mary) Ivey of Hamburg, Ark., and Buck Ivey of Spanish Fort; sisters, Sara Grice and Margie Carnley, both of Andalusia; and six grandchildren.

 

Glenda Odom Ivey

Ms. Glenda Odom Ivey, age 74, of Andalusia passed away Wed., Sept. 28, 2016, in the Florala Health & Rehabilitation.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Mon., Oct. 3, 2016, at Welcome Church in the Pigeon Creek Community. The Rev. David Roy will officiate. Interment will follow in the Kervin Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday at Keahey Funeral Home.

Ms. Ivey was born Dec. 26, 1941, to the late Corlos Odom and the late Bessie Armstrong Odom. Her family described her as a lady who loved her family dearly and when she had good health, she enjoyed “keeping the roads hot” with trips to the beach and visiting with friends and family.

Survivors include her sons, Wade (Denise) Ivey of Andalusia, Ken (Courtney) Ivey of Pensacola, Fla., and Marvin Caddell of Kentucky; brother, Tommy (Patsy) Odom of Red Level; sister, Janice (Don) McCormick of Red Level; and six grandchildren, Ashley Ivey, Robby Ivey, Brianna Ivey, Anna Ivey, Landon Ivey, and Anthony Caddell.
