The Straughn Lady Tigers (21-0) have pushed their winning streak up to 21 games, and remain undefeated after knocking off Slocomb 3-0 Thursday night in Straughn.

“We played really loose,” Straughn head volleyball coach Daniel Rodgers said. “We had girls hitting the floor diving after balls. Sydney Kinsaul and Laura Lee Blatz did a great job of digging out our short balls, and I was also proud of the way we served tonight.”

The Lady Tigers came out strong winning the opening set 25-13.

Straughn continued to give it their best effort in the second set, and came away with a 25-16 victory.

Slocomb made the third set a little closer, but the Lady Tigers weren’t looking to let the match go to a fourth set as they came away with a 25-17 victory to sweep Slocomb.

Ashley Hughes led the way for the Lady Tigers with nine aces and seven kills in the contest.

Hannah Lawless continued to swing well and paced the Lady Tigers with 14 kills.

Laura Ashley Johns picked up four aces in the Lady Tigers win.

Sarah Langford gave the Lady Tigers plenty of chances to attack as she picked up 23 assists in the win.
