The Brantley Bulldogs went to air early and often as they knocked off the Red Level Tigers 49-6 Thursday night in Brantley in the Class 1A, Region 2 match up.

Brantley started the night with ball and quickly drove down the field for a touchdown.

After Red Level was called for a pass interference on the first play of game, Brantley Vandy quarterback commit, Jacob Free connected with Tommy Spivey for a 12-yard pick up and first down.

Running back Mack Wise then took the ball down the Red Level 11-yard line where Free hit Adrian Person Jr., for a touchdown.

On the Tigers’ first possession, Joe Arnold picked up 8 yards on the first carry and then John Lee added 3 yards for Red Level first down. It was all the Tigers could get on the drive, and were forced to punt three plays later.

Free and the Bulldogs went right down the field for another score.

Free connected with a wide-open D’Andre Sinclair for a 5-yard touchdown.

After a Red Level turnover on downs, Brantley needed just two plays to go 13 yards and make the score 21-0 with 1:34 left in the opening quarter.

The Bulldogs then got another score a few minutes later when Free hit Jermany Salter for a 26-yard touchdown.

Free led the Bulldogs on a third-straight two-play scoring drive on the following Brantley possession.

Free connected with Wise for a 30-yard pickup and then capped off the drive with an 11-yard strike to Sinclair for fourth passing touchdown of the first half.

On Brantley’s opening drive of third quarter, Free found Spivey for a 15-yard touchdown to go up 42-0.

Red Level got on the scoreboard midway through the fourth quarter on an 18-yard touchdown run from Lee.

Lee and Arnold each had strong runs on the drive to set up the score.

“There was no intensity, no fight and no anger from our team tonight,” Red Level head coach James Wise said. “You can’t take anything away from Brantley because they are very good football team, but we if we would have played with some intensity I just don’t think it would have been 49-6. This week, we just didn’t have a good week at practice. We weren’t crisp and we just weren’t focused. On Monday, we are going to have to go back to the drawing board. We can still salvage the playoffs and have winning season, but we are going to have to get after it on Monday.”
