Smokin’ Ashes won best overall dish in Thursday’s Wild Game Cookoff for ‘grazing deer.’

Smokin’ Ashes also won first place in game for the dish and second place in fowl for Turkey Tots with Pear Relish. The team, led by Addie and David Sightler, also took top honors in 2014.

  • Best presentation, runner-up – Dutch Oven Gang
  • Game, second place – Swine and Dine for Wild Hog
  • Game, third place – Dixie Dirt Duo for Dirty Deer Chili
  • Fowl, first place – Camp Creek Cookers for Quack-N-Quack Pizza
  • Fowl, third place – Dixie Dirt Duo for Quail and Pepper Jelly
  • Fish, first place – Team Advantage for Shrimp Happens

The event is a fundraiser for the Alabama Wildlife Federation.
