Kindergarten registrations scheduled

Parents of children entering kindergarten and those interested in their children attending a pre-k program can begin registering or putting their child’s name in the pot soon.

School officials in all three area school systems have released dates for kindergarten and pre-k registration.

Children must be 5 before Sept. 1, 2017, to enroll in kindergarten, and must be 4 before Sept. 1, 2017, to put their name in the hat for pre-k.

There will be drawings for the pre-k programs at each school.

Andalusia City Schools will hold pre-registration for kindergarten on March 14, from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Parents need to bring the child’s birth certificate, updated immunization form and Social Security card and proof of residency.

Pre-k registration is under way online and the drawing is set for the first week of April.

WS Harlan kindergarten registration is set for Fri., March 17, at the school.

In Opp, kindergarten registration is April 6.

Pre-k registration began March 1 through the school’s website.

Red Level Elementary School also began their pre-k registration online through March 31.

Kindergarten registration will be March 17 until noon.

At Pleasant Home, pre-k registration is ongoing through March 31 online.

Kindergarten registration is March 24.

Kindergarten registration at Fleeta School is also on March 24 beginning at 8.

At Straughn Elementary School, kindergarten registration is March 24, beginning at 8 a.m.

Pre-K registration is under way online at http://alpreK.education/A. Parents will need to get a site code from the local school.
