Fosteen Jay Hudson
Born Jan. 30, 1929, Fosteen Jay Hudson finished her race on this earth and went home to be with her Lord Jesus on April 23, 2017, in Panama City, Fla., surrounded by family.
Fosteen was one of a kind; a true Southern lady who loved her family and friends unconditionally. Her kindness and generosity were unsurpassed.
Fosteen is survived by her husband of 69 years, Leamon E. Hudson; one son, Jay Michael Hudson (Lynn); two granddaughters, Whitney Hudson Ochanda (Reagan), and Kristin Meleah Hudson; two great-grandchildren, Hudson Aridi Ochanda and Millie Rachael Ochanda; a brother William
(Buddy) Jay; four sisters, Katy Cheshire, Doris Bowen, Shirley Armstrong, and Linda Owens (Don); and a host of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and great-great nieces and great-great nephews, all of whom she loved with all of her heart.
Fosteen was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Lea Hudson; and her parents, Van and Bessie Jay.
Fosteen epitomized the virtuous woman described in Proverbs 31 and was a true friend to so many it would be impossible to name them all. A void has been left in our hearts and our lives that cannot be filled. She was the matriarch of our family, our love, our example, and our inspiration. Our loss is Heaven’s gain.
The family will receive friends at Foreman-Brown Funeral Home from 4 until 6 p.m. on Wed., April 26, 2017. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thurs., April 27, at Southside Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Adellum Cemetery.
