The woman that was shot Aug. 25 by her boyfriend, Alex Daniels, is facing a potentially paralyzing injury, according to Florala Police Chief Sonny Bedsole.

The gunshot clipped the victim’s sciatic nerve, and she has yet to regain any feeling in her right leg.

“The injury isn’t life-threatening,” Bedsole said. “It will change her life drastically, though.”

Suspect in shooting still wanted

Police are still searching for Daniels after tracking his car down in an apartment complex parking lot in Elba.

Bedsole said Daniels is believed to be armed and dangerous, and is still believed to be somewhere in Coffee County.

Daniels is facing domestic violence first degree charges.
