The Straughn Tigers came away with a big 55-48 victory over New Brockton on Monday night in Straughn in varsity boys basketball action.

“I really thought we played better tonight,” Straughn head coach Bradley Stephens said. “We improved from the tournament that we played in last week. I really felt there was a lot of improvement, but it’s still early in the season. There are still a lot of things that we need to improve. Our goal is to improve every game and so far I feel like we are doing that.”

Trent Cleland led the Tigers with 11 points and seven rebounds.

Taylor Rhudy finished the night with 10 points.

Brantley Kelley and Brandon Hudson each tacked on nine points for the Tigers.
