Volunteers at Jo’s Community Dinners delivered Christmas lunch to approximately 200 local residents, as well as the fire department, police department, 911 office, and Andalusia Health’s labor and delivery and emergency departments on Christmas day. Another 200 meals were served to those who stopped by St. Mary’s Episcopal Church for take-out or dine in. The meals, served every year on Thanksgiving and Christmas, are the efforts of several local churches and a host of volunteers who offer the free meals to those who need them or those who are alone.

On Monday, the meal included ham, dressing, green beans, corn, rolls and dessert.
