LESTER AUGHTMAN

Mr. Lester C. Aughtman, Jr., 57, of the Pleasant Home community, passed away on Sun., Dec, 24, 2017.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Sat., Dec. 30th at Pleasant Home Baptist Church with Brother Fred Kelley officiating. The interment will follow in Pleasant Home Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Foreman Funeral Home and at the church 30 minutes prior to services.

He is survived by his wife, Lucretia Smith Aughtman of the Pleasant Home community; his son, Randy Aughtman; two grandchildren, Jay Aughtman and Krissy Aughtman; his mother, Gloria Cobb of Montgomery; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Ellen Craig and her husband Rusty of Red Level, Kay Melnick-Cramer and her husband Kent of Montgomery, Brenda Creech and her husband Ronnie of Geneva; his mother-in-law, Marie Smith of Andalusia; special nieces, Danielle and Paige; and many other nieces and nephews.

LUCENE “LOU” HARPER

Master Sergeant Lucene Harper, USAF (ret.), 81, of Fredericksburg, Va., formerly of Pensacola, Fla., passed away Sun., Dec. 24, 2017.

Lou was born in Covington County, Ala. on Jan. 7, 1936, to Velma and Dan Harper. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Norah P. Harper; sister, Judy Martin; and stepson, Ben L. Kenter, III.

Mr. Harper is survived by his brothers, Charles Harper (Ida) of Washington, and Douglas Harper of Alabama; sisters, Virginia Clark (Joe) of Kentucky, Carolyn Harper of Texas and Jean Bozeman (Jack) of Alabama; stepson, William A. Kenter (Jan) of Fredericksburg, Va.; and two grandchildren, Lauran Kenter of Fredericksburg, Va., and Michael Kenter of San Francisco, Calif.

Visitation will be held 10:00-10:30 a.m. Fri., Dec. 29, 2017, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Funeral Cortege will depart Harper-Morris at 10:30 a.m. for a graveside service to begin at 11 a.m. at Barrancas National Cemetery, Naval Air Station, Pensacola.

JANET MIKELYN MADDOX CLAUSEN

Mrs. Janet Mikelyn Maddox Clausen, age 79, passed away Tues., Dec. 26, 2017. She was born on March 31, 1938, in Andalusia, to Mike Maddox and Mae Reeves Maddox.

Mrs. Clausen was a resident of Miramar Beach, Fla. She was Christian by faith and was a member of Good News United Methodist Church, where she served as a group leader in the Children’s ministry. She was a member of the Kiwanis Club, the Walton County Chamber of Commerce, and Business Network International.

Mrs. Clausen was preceded in death by her father and mother, and her brother, Bill Eaton.

Mrs. Clausen is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Ray Clausen; five sons, Joe Perry, Lee Perry and wife Margie, Don Clausen and wife Kim, Mike Clausen and wife Pauline, and Ray Clausen, Jr. and wife Deana; her daughter, Jan Perry Brock and husband Charlie; her sister, Harriet Maddox Smith; eight grandchildren, Riley Saunders, Kaylee Saunders, Elizabeth Clausen, Alexa Clausen, Brandon Clausen, Bailee Clausen, Chandler Clausen, and Kristen Foley; and her great-grandson Conner Foley.

Receiving of friends will be from 10 until 11 a.m., Fri., Dec. 29, 2017, at Good News United Methodist Church; 4747 US-98, Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32459.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11 a.m., Fri., Dec. 29, 2017, at Good News United Methodist Church, with Pastor Brad Goode officiating.

Pallbearers will be Ray Clausen, Jr., Mike Clausen, Don Clausen, Lee Perry, Riley Saunders, and Brandon Clausen.

MARTHA BELVIN DIXON

Mrs. Martha Belvin Dixon, 102, of Andalusia, passed away Sat., Dec. 16, 2017, at her residence.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thurs. Dec. 28th at the Solon Dixon Forestry Center with interment to follow in the Dixon Family Cemetery. Foreman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Dixon is preceded in death by her husband, Solon Dixon.

No flowers are requested, memorials may be made to the Auburn University Forestry Department.
