Chamber’s banquet will be Mardi Gras event

The Andalusia Area Chamber of Commerce has announced the 95th Annual Membership Meeting and Awards Banquet, a Mardi Gras Carnival event, will be held on Thurs., Feb. 1, 2018, at the Kiwanis Community Center.

Guests will experience “A Taste of New Orleans” catered by Big Mike’s Steakhouse, while being inspired by the experience of culture and traditions of the Crescent City, the birthplace of jazz. Stanford “Slim” Barnes, recently inducted into the Alabama Blues Hall of Fame, along with his band The Soulful Saints, will set the mood for this year’s event. The doors will open at 5:30 p.m, where revelers will be greeted by stilt walkers, aerial acrobats, contortionists, fire breathers, and other extravagant acts.

Following dinner, introductions of the Chamber’s past presidents, outgoing and present board of directors and officers, and special guests will be made.

The Distinguished Service Award, President’s Award, Business of the Year Awards, Teachers of the Year, Student of the Year and other prominent community awards will also be presented.

Tickets, and reserved seating prices are as follows:

  • Reserved premier seating for 16 along with stage sponsorship and voice recognition – $1,500.
  • Reserved premier seating for 12 – $750
  • Reserved seating for 8 – $500
  • Reserved seating for 4 – $250
  • Individual tickets for Chamber members can be purchased for $30, or general admission tickets for $35.
