Frigid temps to continue

Parts of the Deep South, including an area of Florida, is expected to experience snow, ice and slippery travel Wednesday and Wednesday night, but there was only a slight chance of snow flurries in Covington County, and they were expected to end by 9 a.m. Wednesday.

AccuWeather reported Tuesday a rapidly developing storm will spread a swath of snow, ice and slippery travel along the southeastern coast of the United States. The wintry mix was expected to hug the coast in a swath that stretches from Lake City, Fla, and near Jacksonville to Savannah, Ga., Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Wilmington, N.C.

Meanwhile, hard freezes are expected in Covington County every night this week, with lows near 20 degrees and daily highs in the 40s, according to the National Weather Service. Lows will continue to dip below freezing through Saturday night.
