Young couple welcomes son on Jan. 2

Andalusia Health is ringing in the New Year with the first baby born in 2018. Kayden Blake Davis, born to Elizabeth and Haiden Davis, weighed 7 pounds, 9 ounces and was 21 inches long.

This is the couple’s first child.

“I didn’t expect him to be a New Year’s baby,” Elizabeth said. “My due date was December 27.”

Kayden was born on Jan. 2, 2018, at 3 p.m.

“I think it’s pretty cool and amazing that our son is the first baby of 2018,” Haiden said. “I think this is good luck for sure.”

Andalusia Health really helped her, Elizabeth said.

“They have been good to us since I’ve been here,” she said.

Elizabeth was induced around 6 p.m. on Jan. 1st and she didn’t go into labor until around 2 p.m. on Jan. 2.

Andalusia Health’s Birthing Center is devoted to bringing comprehensive, up-to-date care from experience staff and physicians, nurses said.

Services are geared toward assisting women through major milestones of life.

Every year, Andalusia Health welcomes more than 400 babies into the world and Kayden was the start of a new count.

His maternal grandparents are Bobbie Fay and Johnny Ray Kirkland and Melinda Faye Stinson.

His paternal grandparents are Susan Lea and Jimmy Howard Davis, Jimmy Howard and DeLatha Davis Sr. and Audrey Louise Crowe.
