PHS downs Houston County

The Pleasant Home Lady Eagles opened up area play with a big 49-29 victory over Houston County on Thursday night in Pleasant Home.

Lady Eagles’ River Baldwin came out on a mission and began scoring at will on Houston County in the opening frame.

At the end of the first period, the Lady Eagles were on top 24-5 with Baldwin accounting for 20 of those points.

The Lady Eagles pulled back on the reigns in the second period and got two points each from Baldwin, Kallie Grace Turman and Amy Kate Bulger.

Pleasant Home’s defense didn’t let up any as they limited Houston County to just three points in the second period.

Heading into halftime, the Lady Eagles were on top 30-8.

Baldwin and the Lady Eagles came out on a mission in the third period as they went up 48-16 heading into the final period.

Baldwin had 15 points in the third period.

The Lady Eagles pulled back in the final period as they held on for a 49-29 victory.

Baldwin led the way for the Eagles with 37 points in the win.
