WILDCATS ON THE PROWL: Florala controls own destiny with big area win

The Florala Wildcats look like a team on mission as the improved to 8-5 on the season after knocking off Houston County 63-56 on Tuesday night in Florala.

With the win, the Wildcats also remain undefeated in area play.

The Wildcats started strong and balanced with five players contributing points in the opening frame.

Anthone Stone led the way for Florala with five points in the opening frame.

Mekhi James had four points in the first period for the Wildcats.

Rashaad Coleman, Jacob Hammac and Andeon White each had three points as Florala took an 18-12 lead into the second period.

In the second period, both defenses limited the other team to just 10 points.

Hammac had four points to led the Wildcats in the second period.

Lee Stewart, Logan West and James each pitched in two second period points.

Both teams continued to battle it out in the third period, but it was Houston County who went up 43-41 heading into the final frame.

White led the way in the third period with six points for Florala.

In he fourth period, Coleman took over for the Wildcats as he knocked down a pair of 3-pointers on his way to 10-point outburst in final frame.

White added seven points in the fourth to help the Wildcats to the win.

Coleman and White each finished the game with 16 points.

Hammac tacked on 13 points for Florala.
