J.M. Jackson sponsors scholarships through FFA

J.M. Jackson Chevrolet Buick has announced they are working with Future Farmers of America to award college scholarships to local members.

J.M. Jackson Chevrolet Buick is sponsoring three scholarships valuing $1,000 each through the National FFA Scholarship program. These scholarships will provide financial aid to FFA members attending four-year colleges. One winner will be selected from each of the following chapters: Andalusia High School, Opp High School, and Straughn High School.

“J.M. Jackson is committed to serving our community,” Jay Jackson said. “We are honored to offer these scholarships for the second year to local graduates.”

In 2017, 1,888 scholarships worth more than $2.7 million were awarded to FFA members through the National FFA Scholarship program, with more than 115 sponsors participating in the program.

More than 8,000 students applied for these scholarships last year. This year, scholarship applications are available online Nov. 15, 2017 through Feb. 01, 2018 at www.FFA.org/Scholarships.

 

 

The National FFA Organization provides leadership, personal growth and career success training through agricultural education to 649,355 student members who belong to one of 7,859 local FFA chapters throughout the U.S., Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
