ANNA LOIS NALL

Mrs. Anna Lois Nall, age 83, of Andalusia, passed away on Sat., Jan. 20, 2018, at Andalusia Health.

A funeral service was held at on Mon., Jan. 22, at Bethany Baptist Church with Brother Nathan Daniels, Brother Jeff Grimes, and Brother Ronald Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Bethany Cemetery. Visitation was one hour prior to services at the church.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Donna Nall of Andalusia, Tim and Tammy Nall of Andalusia and Stephen J. Nall of Troy; sisters and brothers-in-law, Louise and Julian Johnson of Pace, Fla., and Retha and Wayne Watkins of Heath; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her brother, Ollie Foy Wells.

WILLIAM ASA POWELL

Mr. William Asa Powell, age 85, passed away Fri., Jan. 19, 2018.

A private family graveside service will be Tues., Jan. 23, with a public celebration of his life with a memorial reception on March 31, 2018, at 1:30 p.m. at Enon Baptist Church’s fellowship hall.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ivey Thomas Powell and Bertha Barnes Powell and in-laws Myrtis Meggs Bush and Eark K. Bush; his sisters, Gertrude Powell (formerly Gertrude McCusker), Opal Powell Couch and husband Robert Couch; his great-nephew, Michael Couch; and his sister-in-law, Donna Bush McBee.

He is survived by his wife Alice Bush Powell; his daughter, Carrie Allison Powell (former spouse Barry Marks); his grandsons, Noah and Joshua; his son, Matthew (Tammi) Powell; his nephew, Alan (Janice) Couch and their children, Jason and Martha; his nephew, Mike (Kim) Couch, and their son, Zack, and his son Ryder; his brother-in-law, Jerry McBee and his children Meredith and Jared, along with the extended Powell and Barnes families.

ANN MAHONE CHISUM

Mrs. Ann Mahone Chisum passed away Jan. 12, 2018, in Memphis, Tenn., after a long and hard-fought battle with cancer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Chisum and her son, Nick C. Chisum. Mrs. Chisum is survived by two daughters, Leigh Yates and Lynn Schroeder (Mark); one son, John Chisum (Donna); 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was born Sept. 10, 1936, in Covington County, and grew up in Andalusia. Her father, John Frank Mahone, died shortly after her birth. Her mother, Mrs. Ruby Mahone, was a long time employee of Alatex.

Other close family members from Andalusia include Mr. and Mrs. J.S.Chisum (deceased), Gene Chisum (Glenda) and Barbara Chisum Rawls (Richard).

Mrs. Chisum was a loving mother and grandmother. She and her husband enjoyed playing music, and she taught herself keyboard and harmonica. She had lived with her daughter, Leigh, in Bartlett, Tenn., for the last five years. Her devoted family was with her for the last stages of her disease.

She will be interred in Forest Hills Cemetery, Memphis,Tenn., with her husband, James Chisum. A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held on Feb. 3, 2018, at the home of her daughter, Leigh Yates, in Bartlett, Tenn..

 

PAUL (JUJU) LIMUEL WILLIAMS

Mr. Paul (Juju) Limuel Williams, Jr. of Evergreen passed away on Fri., Jan. 19, 2018, in the Evergreen hospital. He was 77.

Funeral services were held on Mon., Jan. 22, 2018, at Cope-Keahey Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Johnson officiating. Interment followed in Mt. Zion Methodist Church cemetery with Cope-Keahey directing.

Survivors include brothers, James (Beverly) Williams of Mobile, and Robert Williams of Theodore; sisters, Ann Baily of Pace, Fla., and Shirley Farley of Mobile; Signa (Ken) Yngling of Hampton, Ga., and Betty (William) Sims of McKenzie.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Paul L. Williams and Annie Judson Fore Williams; brothers, Billy Williams, Clayton Williams, and Norman Williams; and sister, Faye Parker.

 

SHANE DIANE WHITTEN

Ms. Shannon Diane Whitten, age 65, of Opp, passed away on Fri., Jan. 19, 2018, in an Opp nursing home.

She is survived by one sister; Judy Golden, of Andalusia, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tues., Jan. 23, 2018, at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Andalusia with the Rev. Timmy Carpenter officiating. Keahey Funeral Home of Andalusia in charge of arrangements. Serving as pallbearers are Rodney Meredith, Jamie Meredith, Travis Golden, Caleb Meredith, Trenton Golden and Andrew Raef.
