DONALD (FLY) MCKINNEY

Mr. Donald (Fly) McKinney, age 71, of Andalusia, passed away Sun., Feb. 18, 2018, at Andalusia Health. He owned McKinney’s Starters and Generators in Andalusia for more than 30 years. His hobbies included fishing, farming his land and classic cars. He was a long-standing member of the Montezuma Classic Car Club.

He is survived by his life partner, Kathryn (Kandie) Binder; his three children, Hollie Billcliffe of Florida, Donna Austin, and Rochelle McKenney; five grandchildren; his brother, Lonnie C. (Mack) (Glenda) McKinney of Andalusia; his sisters, Frances Jordan and Geretha (John) Lawson, both of Andalusia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thurs., Feb. 22, 2018, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel of Andalusia with the Rev. Derwood Cleland officiating. Interment will follow at The Flytrap Cemetery (on his property on Beaver Dam Road). Serving as pallbearers are Frankie Barbarow, Keith Gantt, Steve Gantt, Dennis Sellers, Robbie Ballard and Bruce Nelson. The honorary pallbearer is Blake Barbarow.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Thurs., Feb. 22, 2018, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel.

Mrs. Johnnie B. Girdner

Mrs. Johnnie B. Girdner, 93, of Andalusia, passed away Fri., Feb. 16, 2018, at Andalusia Manor.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Fri., Feb. 23, 2018, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Trey Poole officiating the service. The interment will follow in Stone Lake Cemetery. Visitation will begin Friday at 9:30 a.m. at Foreman Funeral Home.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jimmie and Yoko Girdner of Oak Harbor, WA; a daughter and son-in-law, Montez and Michael Grissett of Andalusia; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Lessie Burks of Robertsdale, Ala.; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, W. C. Girdner, Jr; her two sisters, Fannie and Ida; and brothers, Edgar, Allison, and Fred.
