A local man who made threats that put Andalusia Health on lockdown for four hours Friday night is in custody.

Andalusia Police Chief Paul Hudson said the man went to the hospital Friday night and made some threats about explosives.

“We secured the facility and checked it for explosives,” Hudson said.

The initial call came shortly after 8 p.m. Dothan’s bomb squad was called and arrived about 11 p.m. The bomb squad conducted a search, but found no explosives.

Meanwhile, the APD charged Andrew Vidich with making terrorist threats. He is being held on a $10,000 bond. According to his social media page, he lives in River Falls and is 21.

Hudson confirmed that Vidich also made a statement about having placed explosives around the museum on Eglin Air Force Base. When the Star-News went to press, it was not yet clear if anything was found there.

Hudson said patients were not evacuated, but the emergency department was. Those visiting patients were allowed to leave, but no one was allowed in.
