PHS takes down Geneva County

The Pleasant Home Eagles scored early and often on their way to a 12-7 victory over Geneva County on Friday night in Pleasant Home.

Geneva County got a walk and a one-out error to start the first inning before a double put them on top 1-0.

Josh Ruth reached with a two-out single in the bottom of the first inning and then came around to score on double from Nic Woods .

Jake Walker followed with a double that plated Woods and put the Eagles on top 2-1.

Geneva County battled back in the top of the third inning with a pair of runs to go up 3-2.

In the bottom of the third, Avery Taylor led off with a single and moved to third on single from Ruth.

Woods came through again with a single that pushed Taylor around to score.

Walker followed with his second double of the contest to put the Eagles up 5-3.

Ruth and Woods continued to make their presence known as both drove in runs in the bottom of the fourth to give the Eagles an 8-3 lead.

The combo of Ruth and Woods again came through with RBI hits in the bottom of the fifth to take a 12-4 lead.

Woods finished the game 4-for-4 with five RBIs.

Ruth went 4-for-4 with two RBIs.
