Dancers compete at UBC in Atlanta

Andalusia Ballet dancers competed in the Universal Ballet Competition in Atlanta last weekend.

The dancers were judged on their performance of classical variations and contemporary works as well as their performance in Master Classes. Lindsey Stephens, Sydney Ward, Kole Varner, Lucy Dantz, Emily Ward, Sarah Beth Wriston, Paige Landreneau, Emma Henley, Sophia Jones, Hannah Jo Wriston, Drew Correro, Aliana Anderson, Ivy Rodgers, Isabella Burgess and Mia Baumgartner danced well, scored high and represented Andalusia Ballet in this prestigious competition, Andalusia Ballet artistic director Meryane Martin Murphy said.

Lindsey Stephens placed in the top 15 of the senior contemporary division.

Kole Varner placed in the top 15 of the senior classical division.

Paige Landreneau was a scholarship winner, and also placed in the top 15 of both the junior classical and junior contemporary divisions.

Ivy Rogers placed in the top 15 of the Jr Intermediate Contemporary Division.

Andalusia Ballet’s contemporary group piece, The Crumbling, choreographed by Glen Jenkins and performed by Paige Landreneau, Lindsey Stephens, Emily Ward and Sarah Beth Wriston, placed in the top five of the group pieces and received a UBC Platinum Award.
