The Andalusia Lady Bulldogs used a couple of big innings and strong pitching to knock off Highland Home 9-0 on Tuesday in Andalusia.

Highland Home’s first batter reached off of an error, but the Sydney Ray struck out two batters and got a ground out to end the frame.

Highland Home got a single to start the top of the second inning, but Ray buckled down and struck out the next three batters.

The single to start the top of the second inning was the only hit the Lady Bulldogs would give up in the contest.

Clarke moved around to third on a sacrifice from Ray and then came around to score off of a single from Sydney Arnett.

Ray continued to pick up the pace in the pitcher’s circle with another 1-2-3 inning in the top of the fourth.

The Lady Bulldogs loaded up the bases with no outs in the bottom of the fourth inning when Clarke, Mikel and Ray each singled to start the frame.

Arnett then picked up her second RBI of the game when she drove in Clarke with a single.

A few batters later, Salter drew a bases loaded walk to score another run for the Lady Bulldogs.

Olivia Amerson followed with a single to give the Lady Bulldogs a 4-0 lead.

In the pitcher’s circle, Ray recorded another 1-2-3 inning.

The Lady Bulldogs loaded the bases up with one out in the bottom of the fifth inning with a double from Mikel, a single from Ray and walk to Arnett.

Morgan Bledsoe then drew a bases loaded walk to give the Lady Bulldogs a 5-0 advantage.

Alana Nettles kept things going with a run scoring single and then a sacrifice bunt from Salter put Andalusia up 8-0.

The Lady Bulldogs added their final run in the bottom of the sixth inning when Ray scored off of an error.

Salter and Ray finished the game with two RBIs each.

Ray picked up the win in the pitcher’s circle after striking out 11, walking one and giving up just one hit in the complete-game shutout.
