Bulldogs take down Northview

The playoff-bound No. 10 Andalusia Bulldogs (20-4) wrapped up the regular season with a 7-1 victory over Northview on Tuesday night in Dothan.

Ethan Wilson started the game with a lead-off double  and moved around to third on a sacrifice bunt from Garrett Davis.

Wilson later came around to score to put Andalusia on top 1-0.

Northview got a single to start the first inning and later scored the runner.

In the bottom of the second inning, Chip Morgan picked up a pair of strikeouts as he sat down the Northview batters in order.

Wilson led off the top of the third inning with a triple to get things started for the Bulldogs.

Davis followed with a ground ball out, but Wilson was able to score the go-ahead run.

C. Morgan worked around a pair of hits and an error in the bottom of the third inning to keep the Bulldogs out front.

The Bulldogs added to their lead in the top of the fifth inning.

Wilson and Davis drew walks to start the inning.

Sebaskin Stallworth drove in one run with a single and then Will Clark put the Bulldogs up 5-1.

In the top of the sixth inning, Davis drove in a run to put Andalusia up 6-1.

C. Morgan continued to throw well on the mound and kept Northview off of the board since the opening frame.

C. Morgan gave up a single and walk to start the bottom of the sixth, but followed up with a pair of strikeouts.

Gill Morgan came in and picked up the final out of the sixth inning.

Andalusia added their final run of the game in the top of the seventh before G. Morgan shut the door in the bottom half of the seventh inning.

The Bulldogs begin the first round of the Class 4A state playoffs on Friday.

Andalusia will host Monroe County (3-9) in a best-of-three series beginning at 4 p.m., Fri., at Andalusia High School.

Game two is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

If needed, game three would be played on Sat., at 1 p.m.
