The No. 10 Andalusia Bulldogs (20-4) have been playing strong to close out the regular season and will begin their path to the state championship game on Friday when they host Monroe County for the first round of the Class 4A state playoffs.

Andalusia closed out the regular season in dominating fashion.

The Bulldogs won 16 of their final 17 regular season games.

Andalusia won nine-straight games since falling to New Brockton in late March.

The Bulldogs started the season losing two of their first three games, but quickly turned things around.

Senior Ethan Wilson has led the Bulldogs with a .516 batting average, 33 hits, 36 runs scored, six doubles, seven triples, eight stolen bases and four home runs.

Wilson is tied for a team-high 26 RBIs.

Wilson has also led the Bulldogs on the mound with seven wins in seven appearances.

In 37 innings pitched, Wilson has struck out 71 batters and hasn’t allowed a single earned run.

As a team, the Bulldogs have a staggering 0.73 earned-run-average.

Jacob Cravey has been strong on the mound for the Bulldogs.

Cravey has a 0.89 ERA and has six wins in seven starts. Cravey struck out 39 batters in 39 innings pitched.

Garrett Davis has hit for a .352 batting average and his tied with Wilson with 26 RBIs.

Hogan Nichols is second  with 22 RBIs. Nichols has also hit for a .384 average.

Sebaskin Stallworth has batted .364 with 28 hits, 21 RBIs and four doubles.

The Bulldogs will go up against Monroe County (3-9) on Friday at Andalusia High School.

The first game is scheduled for 5 p.m., with second game starting around 7 p.m.

If necessary, game three will be played Saturday at 1 p.m.

The winner between Andalusia and Monroe County will take on the winner between No. 1 UMS-Wright and Trinity in the second round of the Class 4A state playoffs.
