Rumours, a Fleetwood Mac Tribute band, has changed their concert date in Andalusia to Tuesday, May 1, at 7 p.m.

The Covington Arts Council is bringing the tribute band to Andalusia this year after having a successful showing at last year’s Journey tribute band concert.

“For people who love Fleetwood Mac, the weeknight show shouldn’t be a problem,” Covington Arts Council Executive Director Paula Harr said. “I have seen them live and it is definitely worth it.”

Last year, Harr polled arts council supporters to determine which tribute band to book. The results led the CAC to book Rumours.

“Their popularity has definitely grown over the years,” Harr said. “I love Fleetwood Mac and it feels like you are right there watching the real band.”

Fleetwood Mac is a British-American rock band, formed in London in 1967. Among the band’s biggest hits are “Go Your Own Way,” “Dreams,” “Rhiannon” and “Don’t Stop.”

Harr said that the past year’s events for the CAC have been great and that they are looking forward to next year’s shows.

“We have had great audiences for our shows,” Harr said. “Even when it is not a big crowd, the audience still responds well. To keep the quality of people we bring in going, we need more people to come.”

Rumours is based in Atlanta, Ga., and has gathered a loyal fan base after playing to sold out audiences all across the country including the House of Blues, Daryll Hall’s Club and a one week residency at Epcot for Disney’s wildly popular Sounds Like Summer concert series.

“Get ready to rock out,” Harr said. “This group is fantastic.”

The CAC already has several shows picked out for next year.

“We will have another poll to pick a tribute band this year,” Harr said. “We are also in conversation with a person who was on America’s Got Talent.”

Harr said that the CAC will have a big play or musical even though they did not have one this year.

“The musicals and plays are always a big hit so we are hoping to bring one next year,” Harr said.

Tickets for Rumours are available at Harold’s Furniture and the Andalusia Star-News for $15 in advance or $20 at the door.

The concert will be held at the Dixon Center for the Performing Arts on the campus of LBW Community College.
