3 airlifted from scene of accident

A Sunday evening accident resulted in three people being air lifted near Rosin Ridge Road in Red Level.

Benjamin Duane Jones, 56, was driving a 2003 Chevrolet S10 when he struck a tree. His vehicle then hit two pedestrians.

Cpt. Tracy D. Nelson of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency identified the pedestrian as as Tracy Burner, 25, and Joshua Aaron Shields, 36.

All three were transported from the scene by air ambulance with critical injuries.

Investigations are still ongoing, Nelson said.
