The Public Educational Building Authority recently passed the $1 million milestone for private contributions to the two projects at Andalusia High School, PEBA chairman Dr. Charles Eldridge said earlier this week.

The projects include overhauls of the Andalusia High School stadium and the auditorium. The projects are funded by a mix of private and public funding.

The PEBA continues to raise funds for the projects, and specifically for the auditorium chairs. For $350, a chair will be placed in the auditorium in honor or memory of teachers, parents, children, friends, classes or other causes. Sponsored chairs will include plates with requested inscriptions.

To date, the group has sold 119 chairs (see accompanying list of tributes sold to date).

Members of the Public Educational Building Authority are Eldridge, Paul Sue Duebelt and Steve Posey. Carolyn Graham and Donna Raines are assisting the authority with fundraising.
