Mushroom foraging class set

LBW Community College in Andalusia is offering a Mushroom Foraging course on July 9 and 10, 2018, from 6-8 p.m., in the Jeff Bishop Student Center classroom. The first session will include classroom instruction and the second session will be in the field.

In this class, students will learn how to safely identify and locate edible mushrooms of south Alabama and the Florida panhandle such as Chanterelles, Oysters, Tree Ear, Puff Balls, and Lion’s Mane. There will also be tips provided on how to properly prepare and consume after harvesting.

Please wear comfortable clothing on the evening of the second session. This includes pants and tennis shoes.

Space is limited.  The course fee is $29.  Registration deadline is July 2, 2018.
