DARWIN SHARBROOK PIPPIN

Darwin Sharbrook Pippin died Thursday, June 7, 2018. He was 95.

He is survived by his brother, Charles McGuire Pippin; daughters, Angelyn Pippin Simmons and Dottie Pippin (Jeff) Castleberry; grandchildren, Amanda Simmons (Wil) McGriff, Olivia Simmons (Greg) Ennis; Anna Dyas (Geoffrey) Hancy, and Taylor Drayton Castleberry; and great-grandchildren, Darwin Clark McGriff, Emma Elizabeth Ennis, Henley Prim Hancy, Gregory Dale Ennis, Jr, Annalyn Bell Ennis, Brooks McKim Hancy, and Lydia Ann Hancy; many cousins, nieces, and nephews, and countless friends.

He attended Andalusia High School before enlisting in the United States Navy. He was a gunner’s mate first class stationed on merchant marine ships and circled the globe three times during World War II.

After the conclusion of WWII, Darwin attended Auburn University where he majored in mechanical engineering. He married Dorothy Perkins Taylor on June 10, 1947. They left Auburn to return to Andalusia to open TP Flower & Gift Shop with her parents, Angelyn and Perkins Taylor. Darwin later served as president of the Alabama Floral Association and Alabama Director of Florist Transworld Delivery.

Darwin left TP Flower & Gift Shop to become a salesman for the newly formed TPS, Inc., and eventually became sales manager. He was honored to receive the first Founders Award at TPS. Darwin treasured the people he worked with at TPS, and the dear friends he made there have enriched his life more than words can say.

Darwin was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Andalusia where he served as a Deacon, Church Training Director, and President of the Brotherhood.

He and his wife, Dorothy, sponsored a teenage evangelism group called TEAM (teenagers effective at ministering) in the late 60s. This group did revivals in many churches in Alabama and Florida as well as a mission trip to Fort Knox, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tue., June 12, 2018, from First Baptist Church with Dr. Bob Marsh officiating the service. Interment will follow in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Foreman Funeral Home. He will lie in state 30 minutes prior to services at the church.

LARRY W. MCCART

Mr. Larry W. McCart, age 65, of Thomasville passed away Thu., June 6, 2018, in Mobile.

A graveside service will be held on Sat., June 9, 2018, at 10 a.m., in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery with Brother Chuck Lassiter officiating the service.

He is survived by his wife, Donna McCart; sons, Shawn and Jason Boozer; daughters, Tonya Yates, Melody Howell, Vickie Watson, Charity Smithart, and Krystal McCart; step-daughter, Nicole Green; step-sons, Drew and Taylor Green; numerous grandchildren; one great grandchild; sister, Patricia Lassiter; sister-in-law, Mary Jean McCart; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Jeanette McCart, and brother, Jerry McCart.

JACOB N. ELMORE

Mr. Jacob N. Elmore, age 80, of Andalusia, passed away on Fri., June 8, 2018, at Andalusia Hospital.

A graveside service will be held at 4 p.m., today, Sat., June 9, 2018, in Carolina Cemetery.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Robbie Ballard; grandchildren, Lori (joey) Griffin, Britni Ballard, and Bob (Jordan) Ballard; great grandchildren, Madison Griffin, Bradie Griffin, Brylie Ann Griffin, James Rossi Ballard, Case Ballard, and Halli Jo Ballard; and siblings, Faye (Glen) Sightler, Barbara Bradley, Harold (Ferrolyn) Elmore, Gloria (Eddie) Cannon, Charlotte (Gary) Smith, and Elaine (Gordon) Bulger.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Martha Lou Elmore; parents, J.C. and Minnie Bell Elmore; and siblings, Lucille Sightler, J.C. Elmore, Jr., Darell Elmore, Tolbert Elmore, Annie Jim Brogden, Nell Trawick, James Elmore, Jean Powell, Wayne Elmore, Ray “PeeWee” Elmore, and Glinda Robbins.

OLIVE MAE BAKER

Mrs. Olive Mae Baker, age 77, of Andalusia, passed away on Thu., June 07, 2018, at Andalusia Hospital.

A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m., on Sat., June 9, 2018, in South Cemetery in Red Level.

She is survived by her husband, Glenn Baker; sons and daughter-in-law, Anthony Davis, Sr. and Johnathan and Robin Davis; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Tommy Jones; grandchildren, Anthony Davis, Jr., Joseph Davis, Sean Davis, Shane Davis, Nichole Davis, Tanya Mork, Cassandra Otto, and George Otto, II; and great grandchildren, Isabella Mork, Makayla Mork, Daniella Mork, Taylor Stein, Donovan Otto, and Naomi.

She is preceded in death by her brothers, Wayne Lamarr, Raymond Lamarr, and Robert Lamarr.

LILLIAN F. TART

Mrs. Lillian F. Tart, age 96, of Andalusia, passed away on Thu., June 7, 2018.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Sun., June 10, 2018, at Carolina Baptist Church with Brother Garrett Davis officiating the service, interment will follow in Carolina Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday evening from 6 to 8 p.m., at Foreman Funeral Home. She will also lie in state 30 minutes prior to services at the church.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Herbert and Carol Tart of Cummings, Ga.; daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Harold Waldon of Mobile; four grandchildren, Scott Tart, Suzanne Hall, Melissa (Tim) Perrin, and Amanda Waldon; great grandchildren, Taylor Dale, Annie Dale, Lindsey Tart, Jonathen Bushnell, Andrew Bushnell, MaKayla Bushnell, Alex Perrin, and Zack Perrin; brother and sister-in-law, Cecil and Nette Franklin; sisters, Sybil Stokes and JoAnne Britt; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Scott Tart, Tim Perrin, Randy Davis, Jerome Davis, Reggie Davis, and Jeff Duke.

RUBY INGRAM

Mrs. Ruby Ingram, 92, of Red Level, passed away Wed., June 6, 2018.

Mrs. Ingram had resided at Oak Park Nursing Home for three years and passed away at EAMC in Opelika.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m., today, Sat., June 9, 2018, at Foreman Funeral Home and burial following in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Red Level.

Visitation will be today, Sat., June 9, 2018, from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at Foreman Funeral Home.

She is survived by her son, Paul Ingram; daughter and son-in-law, June Owens (Bill); daughter-in-law, Sheila Ingram; grandchildren, Ryan Freeman (Kristen), Cody Ingram (Cara), Kyle Ingram, Katie Ingram and Chad Ingram and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Lomax Ingram, and son Myron Ingram.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Freeman, Cody Ingram, Kyle Ingram, Chad Ingram, Tony Ingram and Mickey Pitts.

ZADARIOS “ZADIGG” MCCASKILL

Zadarios “Zadigg” McCaskill, age 22, of Andalusia, went to be with the Lord on Sat., June 2, 2018.

He is survived by his mother and step-father, Nataska and Steven Walker of Andalusia; his father, Herman Haynes of Georgiana; his sister, Merikal McCaskill; and his paternal grandmother, Clementine Pugh of Georgiana.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Sun., June 10, 2018, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel of Andalusia. Funeral celebrant Kymberly Carpenter-Keahey will deliver the eulogy.
