Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama has selected 10 University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) medical students to receive scholarships. As a condition of these scholarships, the recipients have agreed to practice as primary care or behavioral health physicians in underserved areas of Alabama after graduation.

Recipients include: Alex Kearns of Huntsville; Chelsea Clark of Clay; Clinton Kilcrease of Brantley; Hannah Zahedi of Trussville; Joshua Price of Arley; Mary Ingram of Decatur; Sara Frese of Mountain Brook; Tanner Hallman of Arab; Zoza “Grace” Spears of Andalusia; and Savannah Johnson of Arley.
