Garner named Covington County DYW

Andalusia High School’s Emory Garner was named Covington County’s Distinguished Young Woman Saturday night.
Garner, the daughter of Brad and Becky Garner, won the self expression, talent, scholarship and interview categories of the competition. For the talent portion of the competition, she performed “Moonlight Sonata” on piano.
Emmy Rabren was first alternate. Rabren is a Straughn student and the daughter of Doug and Kimberly Rabren.
Annabell Bryant, daughter of David and Jill Bryant and an AHS student, was second alternate, and co-winner of the spirit category.
Lindsey Stephens, daughter of Keith and Shannon Stephens and an AHS student, was third alternate. She won the fitness division and was co-winner of the spirit award.
Merrill Ann Culverhouse, an Opp High School student and the daughter of Merrill and Susan Culverhouse, was the Be Your Best Self essay winner.
