Barnes, Weeks are doubles champs at 43rd WCDT

Mackey Barnes of Booneville, Mississippi, won his third doubles title in the Andalusia Rotary Club’s World Championship Domino Tournament Saturday, this time with Steve Weeks of Noxapeter, Mississippi, as a partner.

Barnes previously was a doubles champion in 1997, when he teamed up with F.E. Studer of Carrolton, Texas, in 2006 when his doubles partner was Billy Sexton of Highland Home, Alabama.

Players draw for partners in the competition, held this past weekend for the 43rd consecutive year.

First place – Mackey Barnes and Steve Weeks

Second place – Michael Haire and Deleon Tew

Third place – Denvel Stanaland and Dave Ballard Jr.

Fourth place – Phil Baker and TJ Jernigan

Fifth place (tie) – Ethan Dorsey and Mark Tyler, Keith Spencer and Jim Foster, Sidney Brown and Jerry Jones, Judge Will Matthews and Harold Carpenter.

 

Adult Doubles Consolation

First place – Walter Patterson III and Lyndon Livingston. Livingston also won the singles championship.

Second place – Trevor Born and Larry Kuntschik

Third place (tie) – Tommy Polk and Deborah Manning and Seth Henry and Mike Brown

Fifth place (tie) – Robert Holman and Michael Lambert, Larry George and John Clenney Jr., Donald Chase and Pat Henke, Thomas Carroll and Mary Brazell

 

Teen Doubles

First place – Weston Brown and Jonathan Jenkins

Second place – Austin Kyser and Parker Kelley

Third place – Levi Weaver and Lexy Happney

Fourth place – Charleston Coker and Jayce Ferrebee
